Old battery exchange in Visakhapatnam

Old inverter and car batteries for exchange at Deepak Automobiles®, Visakhapatnam

When a battery reaches the end of its life, the next question is what to do with the old one. Car, bike and inverter batteries are heavy, they contain lead and acid, and they should not be left in a corner or thrown out with household waste. At Deepak Automobiles® in Seethammapeta, Visakhapatnam, we take old batteries back in exchange when you buy a new one, whether you collect it from the store or we deliver and fit it for you.

Which old batteries we take back

We accept old lead-acid batteries of the kinds we sell and fit:

  • Car, SUV and jeep batteries
  • Bike and scooter batteries
  • Inverter and home UPS batteries, including tall tubular batteries
  • Commercial vehicle, three-wheeler and tractor batteries

If you have something unusual, such as a battery from a generator or a solar system, ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether it can be part of the exchange.

How the exchange works

1. Tell us about the old battery when you enquire: the type, the size or model code from the label, and roughly how old it is. 2. We confirm the new battery that suits your vehicle or inverter, along with the price including the exchange. 3. We take the old battery when we deliver and fit the new one, or when you bring it to the store.

A clear photo of the old battery's label is the easiest way to give us the details. It also helps us confirm the right replacement, because the label carries the model code, capacity and terminal layout. Our guide on how to read a car battery label explains what each part means.

Why old batteries need safe handling

A lead-acid battery that looks dead still holds lead plates and acid. If the case is cracked, acid can leak and damage floors, clothes and skin. Batteries left outside in the Visakhapatnam heat and humidity can also swell or corrode at the terminals. Handing the old battery back when you replace it keeps it out of household waste and avoids these problems at home.

If you need to move an old battery yourself, keep it upright, wear gloves, and do not let the terminals touch metal. Never try to open a battery case.

Is it time to replace, or does it need a charge?

Not every weak battery needs replacing. A battery that has been run flat once, or left unused for a few weeks, may recover after a proper charge. Our battery charging service can help you find out before you spend on a new one. Common signs that replacement is due include slow cranking, a battery older than a few years, a swollen case, or an inverter that gives much less backup than before. Our article on signs your car battery needs replacing covers these in more detail.

Choosing the replacement

Once you know the old battery is finished, the new one should match your vehicle or inverter, not just the old battery's size. Use the battery finder, browse inverter batteries, or tell us your requirement on our delivery and pickup page. We deal in Amaron, Exide, Luminous, Microtek, Amptek, Amaze, Dynex and UNO Minda.

Our store is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and closed on Sunday. Call or WhatsApp +91 98853 33960 to arrange your exchange.
